Looking to Settle in New Hampshire?

by Marion White 06/09/2019

If you are relocating to New Hampshire and are looking for places to buy property, here are some locations worth checking out.

Greenland

This small town in Rockingham County has a historic claim as one of the first settlements in New Hampshire. As early as the 1600s this town was up and running. With a population of less than 4,000, Greenland has managed to retain that cozy small-town feel, even though residential properties and commercial activity have increased in the recent past. There is a strong sense of community, enhanced by activities that bring folks together.

Among the locality's most famous attractions are its green spaces that evoke a sense of tranquility. With a higher than average expenditure on education here, you can be sure your kids will have all they need to excel in their studies.

Madbury

If you are really into small town living, then Madbury, with its population of just under 2,000, might be the place for you. The median cost of a home here is $387,500, significantly lower than that of Greenland. Getting around in Madbury is convenient, as the average commute time of 25 minutes suggests. Nature lovers will love this town for its wooded areas and the abundance of wildlife that resides there.

Bedford

Bedford is a bigger town than Greenland and Madbury, offering a suburban experience as opposed to the small-town feel of these two localities. Its public schools are highly rated, and it is generally considered an excellent place to raise a family. With Manchester Airport just 10 minutes away, it is an ideal location for frequent travelers.

Lee

Lee is yet another of the New Hampshire towns that offers that small-town comfort for those looking for a respite from the big-city bustle. However, you won't be too far from malls and other conveniences. The population in this Strafford County town stands at just 4,375, and the median house price is about $60,000 less than Madbury’s.

Brookline

Though it is more populous than most of the above towns, Brookline still offers a rural feel to prospective homeowners. More importantly to potential settlers, a house here is likely to be cheaper than in the other localities. Young families will be happy to note how highly rated the public school system is in this town. They will also be delighted with the range of family-friendly outdoor activities available here.
